The NECS and Bhutan Agriculture and Food Regulatory Authority (BAFRA) are executing the project in partnership with Bhutan Trust Fund for Environment Conservation (BTFEC). The project is supported through the Programme on Innovation under the Adaptation Fund. Out of the 6 countries that have accessed the Innovation small grants since 2018; Bhutan is the fifth country to access the fund with BTFEC as the National Implementing Entity.
The objective of the project is to promote agro-biodiversity activities through efficient and effective management of pests/diseases and IAS. The workshop was attended by the officials from BTFEC, BAFRA (Headquarter and Mongar Field Offices), Gross National Happiness Commission, Royal University of Bhutan, Department of Agriculture, National Biodiversity Centre, National Plant Protection Centre and Tarayana Foundation.
