Bhutan ratified the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer in 2019. This amendment requires the parties to gradually phase down the production and consumption of hydrofluorocarbons (HFC) for which there is requirement to establish a licensing system for import of HFC starting January 1, 2021.
Therefore, all the importers of HFC are hereby notified on the requirement of permit to import HFC from National Ozone Unit, NECS starting January 1, 2021. Application form can be downloaded from NEC website at www.nec.gov.bt
